Assembly Bill 345 took effect on Jan. 1 and requires that all real estate brokers renewing their licenses for the first time must take a three-hour long management and supervision-related class. The new AB 345 bill also requires salespersons — not just brokers — who renew for a second or subsequent time to take either the three-hour course or an eight-hour survey course containing this relevant information to assist with understanding how to be a responsible broker or branch manager.
The good news is that you can take the course as part of your 12 FREE CE online courses.
The current law states that real estate brokers and salespersons are required to complete 45 hours of CalBRE-approved continuing education in order to renew their licenses. All license renewals are still required to take the five mandatory topics which cover ethics, agency, trust fund handling, fair housing, and risk management. These areas are in addition to management and supervision. Go here for more information about other requirements and renewing your real estate license.
