C.A.R. is happy to report that C.A.R.-sponsored AB 1280 (Maienschein), which updates the Natural Hazard Disclosure form to include information about defensible space mandates imposed on parcels in high fire severity zones, has successfully passed out of the Legislature and is awaiting the Governor’s signature.
C.A.R. is working hard to shepherd the rest of its active sponsored bills through the Legislature: AB 225 (Grayson), which updates the Residential Environmental Hazard Booklet to add three new chapters related to wildfires, climate change, and sea level rise, has received no “No” votes in committees thus far and is awaiting a
vote in the Senate Appropriations Committee. AB 323 (Holden), which requires density bonus/inclusionary zoning owner-occupancy units to be sold to qualified buyers for owner-occupancy unless the developers of these units can prove that there are no such qualified buyers, is also awaiting a vote in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
The Califoria legislature has until tomorrow, Friday, July 14, to hear bills in policy committees. After that, it will adjourn for summer recess. The Legislature will reconvene on Monday, August 14, and it will have one month from that date to conclude all of its business for the year. Read More
