Dear California Real Estate magazine readers:
C.A.R. knows that you look to us for guidance, news and information about your business, the industry and the real estate market. When it is business as usual, C.A.R.’s California Real Estate magazine brings you relevant content and insights from industry leaders and housing experts. However, we know it’s not business as usual — not for you or for us.
If you haven’t already, you will soon be receiving your issue of the March/April California Real Estate magazine. In reviewing it, you may wonder why C.A.R. did not address the coronavirus outbreak and its impact on your business and California real estate. Producing a print publication occurs months in advance of the date it is delivered to you. This issue had gone to print prior to the escalation of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States, and in fact was on press during the last two weeks. As part of the COVID-specific information we’ve been distributing to all members, in the last week alone, we have constructed a new website and new weekly newsletter, sent numerous all-member eblasts, posted on social media and made sure all our various communication channels are full of the information you need to get through these challenging times.
In light of the long lead times associated with the production of the magazine, we are suspending publication of the May/June issue, which also has been in the works for weeks. We will resume our schedule with the July/August issue.
We also want to let you know about C.A.R.’s consumer advertising campaign, featured in the March/April issue you just received. In the article, we state that the TV spots will air March 16 – April 12. However, due to current circumstances, we have decided to postpone this campaign to a later date this summer. Of course, we will let you know when the campaign starts.
Please know that C.A.R. is working diligently to provide you with as much guidance and information as possible during this extraordinary moment. We strongly urge you to visit car.org/coronavirus for up-to-date information from C.A.R.
The most important thing is that you and your families stay healthy and stay safe. We at C.A.R. are here for you, and we’ll get through this together!
Sincerely,
California Real Estate magazine editors
