Dear CAR Member,
When we started this year, we had no idea we would be adapting to new ways of doing business, much less holding meetings and events virtually. But that’s just what we did a few weeks ago, when we wrapped up an extremely successful REimagine! Real Estate Virtual Conference and Expo. More than 13,300 of you registered for three days of virtual sessions, featuring over 20 hours of content from more than 40 insightful and accomplished speakers on topics ranging from Top Producers who are Crushing It, Facing Challenges Head On from Industry Leaders, and Recognizing and Rooting out Implicit Bias to Everything You Need to Know About Virtual Transactions—all from the comfort of your home. And C.A.R. Chief Economist Leslie Appleton-Young delivered her final Housing Market Forecast and had a candid conversation with C.A.R. CEO Joel Singer about the biggest events, patterns and players impacting real estate over the past couple of decades.
REALTORS® also explored the latest and greatest products and “chatted” with over 40 vendors in the virtual exhibit hall and got a chance to win killer prizes such as iPads, laptops and other tech toys. Attendees connected with fellow REALTORS® from across the state in the Networking Lounge and stopped in the Fun Room to snap a selfie or take a breather with guided yoga and meditation sessions.
Couldn’t make up your mind between two competing sessions or want to rewatch one that you enjoyed so much? Or maybe you didn’t register for the event yet but want to catch the session replays? Not to worry, all sessions are available to watch on demand until December 16 here and you can still register here to gain access to the sessions. Miss a presentation handout? Look for “Slide Deck” under the session descriptions where available and copy the link into your web browser.
And don’t forget to save the date for next year’s REimagine! Conference and Expo, October 5-7, 2021, in Anaheim.
We are nearing the last few days of the Yes on19 campaign and I want to take a moment to thank the many of you who have supported Proposition 19 in so many different ways. We are ending our campaign strong with our paid advertising, positive local press coverage across the state, local support from C.A.R. members as well as support from Gov. Gavin Newsom, most state constitutional officers, labor unions, chambers of commerce, taxpayer groups, local and state elected officials, wildfire survivors, seniors and disability advocate organizations. We also have received recent editorial endorsements from newspapers such as the Sacramento Bee, San Diego Union-Tribune, Modesto Bee, Fresno Bee, and San Luis Obispo Tribune.
I am encouraging each of us to keep focused on Election Day and continue to share with your colleagues, friends, families, and clients why C.A.R.-sponsored Proposition 19 is a win-win for California.
Despite this year’s challenges of the pandemic, social unrest, and countless Zoom meetings, I feel incredibly lucky to have been C.A.R. President this year. I’ve connected with more members online this year than I would have in person. I’m fortunate to be in a position to make change and help drive the change we want to see. Never have members been more engaged by listening and paying attention. We make change slowly or only incrementally unless we’re forced to do change more rapidly. You all have proven over these past several months that you can change on a dime by adapting and adopting new strategies. You’ve also seized this golden opportunity to help others get through this change because REALTORS® are resilient and are in an excellent position to advance change.
In closing, as my term as your President concludes, I want to thank each and every one of you for your active involvement with C.A.R. this year. I leave knowing you’ll remain just as involved with your 2021 Leadership Team comprised of President Dave Walsh, President-elect Otto Catrina, Treasurer Jennifer Branchini, and C.A.R. Chief Executive Officer Joel Singer. It has been a pleasure serving you, and I hope to see you in person soon.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Jeanne Radsick
C.A.R. President
