Last month, I told you about Gov. Gavin Newsom’s budget proposals to address housing and homelessness throughout California. Earlier this week, he shared further insight into his plan to address California’s housing crisis during his first State of the State address.

Gov. Newsom characterized the housing affordability crisis as the most overwhelming challenge the state faces and recognized that it is caused by too much demand and not enough supply. He said that California should never be a place where only the well-off can lead a good life, and if we want a California for all, we have to build housing for all.
