Talking Points
- The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) and district attorneys throughout the state have joined together to warn consumers about the increase in mortgage fraud and foreclosure and short sale scams.
- C.A.R. also has created a special section on its website to help educate consumers about fraud and scams, including how to avoid it and what to do if they become a victim.
- In addition to the website, C.A.R. also has released public service announcements alerting consumers to the possibilities of becoming a victim and being taken advantage of as a result of the recent National Mortgage Settlement.
