C.A.R.’s 2024 New Laws chart, featuring laws that will most affect real estate agents, is now available. Among these are three disclosure laws, including the C.A.R.-sponsored Assembly Bill 1280 that will change up the information that is presented on the Natural Hazard Disclosure Statement making it easier for an agent to identify which properties are subject to the defensible space and fire hardening rules. Also, there are several significant laws pertaining to rentals including Senate Bill 267, which requires an owner to allow a Section 8 tenant applicant the right to present their ability to pay in lieu of a standard credit history.
