Every April CAR commemorates the anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. It’s a time when we can celebrate the progress made since 1968 and commit to making sure that the dreams of the Americans who fought for years to make this law possible are realized.
Fair Housing Month is of special importance to REALTORS®. As homeownership gaps persist, REALTORS® are playing a leading role in ensuring that everyone has equal opportunity to own a home.
Looking for ways to celebrate Fair Housing Month? C.A.R. can help! Here are a few ways that you can honor this important law:
Take the C.A.R. Leadership Fair Housing Challenge! Every REALTOR® can show leadership, professionalism and commitment to homeownership for all by completing NAR’s At Home with Diversity, Fairhaven and C.A.R.’s Implicit Bias course or NAR’s Bias Override. You can accept this challenge by completing the courses by September 1, 2023. Once you have completed all courses, you’ll need to complete a submission form. |
Donate to the Housing Affordability Fund Pathways to Homeownership Program. This program helps first-time homebuyers who are members of an underserved community bridge the affordability gap by providing them with up to $10,000 in closing cost assistance. C.A.R.’s Housing Affordability Fund Pathways to Homeownership Bowling Tournament happens April 11 from 5pm to 9pm at the Lucky Strike Hollywood immediately following Fair Housing Day. |
