February is Black History Month. As I reflect on the journey of C.A.R., I am inspired and excited about the diverse association we have today, comprised of professionals committed to fair housing and diversity. I’m honored to have worked with distinguished African American REALTORS® such as Evelyn Arnold, Mel Wilson, Ruth Hayles, Dolores Golden and the late Malcolm Bennett. The vision of these and other extraordinary leaders who have played a role in shaping C.A.R. over the years can be seen in our current strategic framework that prioritizes inclusivity and reduces homeownership gaps that impact underserved communities.

Have you been adversely affected by the recent rainstorms and flooding throughout California? If so, you may be eligible for a grant from C.A.R.’s Disaster Relief Fund. C.A.R. has been helping the REALTOR® family recover from natural disasters for more than 15 years. The fund was established in the wake of the devastating 2003 California wildfires, thanks to generous contributions from C.A.R., REALTORS®, state and local REALTOR® associations and other contributors, and provides grants for REALTORS®, employees of REALTORS® and association staff.
