Now that vaccinations have begun, has the Industry Guidance for real estate transactions changed?
No. REALTORS® must continue to adhere to the Industry Guidance, which details how properties must be shown during the COVID-19 pandemic. This means:
- You cannot hold traditional open houses or showings that are open to the public on a walk-in basis. Showings must continue to be done virtually whenever possible.
- All visitors to a property must sign a PEAD-V form and deliver it electronically to the listing agent in advance of entering the property.
- You must post the Posted Rules for Entry at the entrance to the property.
- You must provide hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes.
- You must ensure the property is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to showings.
- You must keep doors and windows open to circulate fresh air during a showing. If my clients and I have been vaccinated, do we need to go through the same steps (signing the PEAD-V form, keeping the windows open, etc.)?
Yes. You should follow the Industry Guidance no matter your vaccination status.
