Dear CAR Member,

I hope you’re having a good summer and that your clients are keeping you busy now that the state’s economy has reopened.

As a reminder, C.A.R. has prepared an extensive and detailed Q&A and Quick Guide to help ensure that you’re in compliance and well-informed about the reopening rules for conducting business, including changes for open houses and showings. And don’t forget to check C.A.R.’s COVID website at car.org/coronavirus for other important information to keep you up to date.

If you’re a housing provider, you’ll want to know that earlier this month, Gov. Newsom signed a bill to pay landlords with qualified tenants COVID-19 back rent in full and extend the state’s COVID-19 eviction moratorium through September 30, 2021. C.A.R. is holding a Legal Live Webinar this afternoon, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. to help members navigate the updated rules on critical dates, landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities, standard forms, and the relationship to local laws. Last week, I had the pleasure of moderating C.A.R.’s Center for California Real Estate first virtual event in more than a year. Panelists from RAND, Milken and the California Budget & Policy Center discussed the future of work and home and explored how current market impacts will shape the state’s long-anticipated recovery. They also shared insights about policies, data, and solutions that could propel a seismic change to make lessons from the past year a real turning point for California real estate. If you were unable to join us, watch the recording of Forecasting the Future at Home and Work Post-Pandemic and read the key takeaways here.

Keeping in theme with virtual events, next up, we tackle branding. Today’s market is fiercely competitive, so on August 25, we’ve assembled branding gurus, industry leaders and top REALTORS® to teach you essential personal branding tips and strategies at our member-only Branding Xperience: A Virtual Summit. This engaging virtual summit is stacked with powerful insights that will help define who you are and why people should do business with you. You’ll come away with fresh self-branding ideas to stand out from the competition, no matter how many years of experience you have. Learn more at virtualxperience.org.

Lastly, the official CA REALTOR® Conference and Expo, REimagine! Real Estate, is coming up on Oct. 5-7.
