C.A.R. recently created a new manual to help REALTORS® and their clients prepare for and present cases in small claims court. The Small Claims Court Assistance Manual for REALTORS® and Their Clients: Helpful Hints for How to Make Your Case in Court should enable users to make more knowledgeable and effective presentations.

The manual covers general information applicable to all claims made in small claims court, and addresses specific information helpful to real estate related issues, such as: Claims by a listing broker for compensation (Chapter 3); claims by a buyer for return of a deposit or damages (Chapter 4); claims by a seller for release of a deposit or damages (Chapter 5); and defenses by a broker against claims made by a buyer (Chapter 6).

The Manual is a searchable Word® document and can be accessed by C.A.R. members in the Real Estate Resources section under the Legal tab on car.org.
