On Thursday May 11, the Assembly and Senate Appropriations Committees will meet to determine which bills on the Appropriation Suspense File will move out of committee and be eligible for a vote on the Floor.

Among the numerous bills of interest to C.A.R. on the Appropriations Committee’s Suspense Files include C.A.R.-sponsored bills: AB 225 (Grayson), which updates the Residential Environmental Hazard Booklet to add three new chapters related to wildfires, climate change, and sea level rise; AB 323 (Holden), which requires density bonus/inclusionary zoning owner-occupancy units to be sold to qualified buyers for owner-occupancy unless the developers of these units can prove that there are no such qualified buyers; and AB 743 (Petrie-Norris), which establishes a Remote Online Notarization licensing system in California.

The Legislature will then have until June 2 to pass any Assembly bills out of the Assembly and any Senate bills out of the Senate, also known as the “House of Origin” deadline.
