More than 2,200 REALTORS® came to the State Capitol in Sacramento last week for C.A.R.’s 50th Legislative Day. Headlining speaker President Pro Tem of the State Senate, Toni Atkins, and Sen. Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh, a fellow REALTOR®, addressed our enthusiastic audience and discussed the hottest housing issues facing our state. Legislative Day was an opportunity to unite and convene on our core priorities and celebrate the real estate profession and the collective goal of creating pathways to homeownership for all Californians.
We also held our first-ever Block Party as part of NAR’s “Riding with the Brand” initiative the night before to showcase the value of REALTORS® and the importance of real estate and REALTORS® to local communities. Thank you to everyone who made these events such a success!
I’m really excited to share that we’ve launched our 2023 consumer ad campaign! This year’s campaign hit the airwaves with three brand-new commercials, and the most exciting part is that we’re bringing back the “Who’s Your REALTOR®” tagline! With a challenging market, it was time to remind California buyers and sellers, that accomplishing their California Dream is still possible, and with a California REALTOR® by their side, it can become a reality. Your new consumer ad campaign tells the story of three different Californians, all looking to accomplish their California Dream. All three of the new commercials will air on ABC, NBC, HGTV and Telemundo in the Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego markets, and stream on Hulu and Peacock. To further extend the message, we’ve also launched a new marketing tools site, Share University, that hosts existing ad campaign marketing tools such as Content Studio, REALTOR® RealTalk, REALTOR® GIFs, and Who’s Your REALTOR®? Augmented Reality, along with new ones like Zoom background and social media stickers. Share University helps amplify our message by teaching and inspiring REALTORS® to share it. With new and improved tools, you have everything you need to customize, personalize and supercharge communications ― whenever you’d like ― all for free.
Speaking of a tough environment, we know the challenges members are facing with the market and showing their value to clients. That’s why C.A.R created Smart Zone, a new website to address these two areas. Smart Zone houses valuable information for new agents and industry vets, alike. There are three main sections on the site: REALTOR® Value, Member Resources and Newsroom. In REALTOR® Value, you’ll find a variety of content to help you grow your business and connect with clients ― things like infographics, a detailed list of everything REALTORS® do for their clients, and scripts for conversations with clients. In the Resource Hub, you can find upcoming trainings, see legal quick guides on important topics and explore our many C.A.R. member benefits. There also is a special section just for newer agents with tip sheets on how to handle a market shift. The Newsroom section spotlights industry news, the latest weekly market analysis from C.A.R.’s research team, episodes of Housing Market podcast and issues of the Market Matters newsletter. Check it out at smartzonecar.org. It’s updated regularly, so be sure to check back often for more usable content and info.
