Dear CAR Member,

President's Message: Jennifer Branchini, C.A.R. President (Video)

I have enjoyed meeting many of you in my first few months as C.A.R. President. Some of you have reached out by phone and email, and several of you said “hello” during our winter business meetings in Indian Wells last month.

Being accessible to you is one of my top priorities. As an active REALTOR®, a manager, a parent and wife, I stand shoulder to shoulder with each of you in the field each day. If you have something to share, an idea you believe will improve our business or simply want to better understand what C.A.R. does for each of you, reach out!

Our spring meetings in Sacramento are just around the corner, and I’m excited to tell you that registration is now open for C.A.R.’s 50th Legislative Day, which will be held in person on Wednesday, May 3.

Legislative Day gives 2,000 California REALTORS® the opportunity to discuss real estate issues directly with their state legislators and staff and urge them to support creating homeownership opportunities and to defeat bills that would impose unfair taxes that make homeownership even more expensive for working Californians.

This year, C.A.R. will be holding its first-ever Block Party to promote NAR’s “Riding with the Brand” initiative, which celebrates the REALTOR® brand and being together again. We’re literally taking over a city block in downtown Sacramento with food trucks, a DJ and games to celebrate the REALTOR® brand!

While attendance at Legislative Day is free for all California REALTORS®, first-time attendees are eligible for a Legislative Day scholarship to help cover travel expenses. To apply, inquire with your local association. Watch this video to learn more about C.A.R. Legislative Day or visit here. To attend Legislative Day or the Block Party, sign up with your local association of REALTORS®. If you have questions, please contact us at legislativeday@car.org

I’m also thrilled to share that C.A.R. is holding its second annual Fair Housing Day, and this time we’ll be live and in person at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles on April 11. Fair Housing Day is a FREE event that will be packed with sessions from innovators, researchers, advocates, and policy experts discussing hot fair housing topics including appraisal bias, discrimination in rental housing and inclusive advertising and more. For an additional fee, you’ll have an opportunity to attend a special luncheon featuring award-winning reporter Julian Glover, with ABC7 News in the Bay Area and Executive Producer of the documentary, “Our America: Lowballed.” Learn more about the event and register for FREE here

Lastly, one of C.A.R.’s missions is to provide you with the tools and information you need to succeed. C.A.R.’s 2022 Impact Report illustrates some of the many ways we made an impact for you last year to help you achieve your professional goals. Download the report here

Have a great month!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Branchini
2023 C.A.R. President
